The Heartland Cable Commission, serving the cities of Breezy Point, Jenkins and Pequot Lakes together with Jenkins and Pelican townships, will award FOUR post-secondary education scholarships in the amount of $1,500.00 each to traditional, home-schooled and Non-Traditional students who reside within the Heartland Service area.  Our scholarship awards include most "trade schools" in addition to a traditional college education.  Also, one $2,000.00 scholarship has been added to the 2017 Scholarship Awards given by the Commission to deserving students living in our service area.  "Non-Traditional" students are defined as students of any age who wish to pursue studies leading to a degree or certification from a post-secondary institution or a trade school.

 The Commission is enthusiastic regarding this year’s application process and underscores it’s desire to receive scholarship applications from Non-Traditional students. 

Scholarship Grant Applications and rules are available at Brainerd High School, Pequot Lakes High School, Pine River High School and Central Lakes College and on this web site.

Applicant MUST currently live inside the legal boundaries of one of the following communities: Pelican & Jenkins Townships , the Cities of Breezy Point, Jenkins or Pequot Lakes.  Mailing address may or may not be proof of this requirement, actual location of residence will be verified by the Commission.  Applicants do NOT have to subscribe to any Cable System to be eligible for scholarship.

Applications must be returned to the school office or directly to the commission by April 18, 2017 and scholarship winners will be announced in May.
